The purpose of a bow rack is to safely store and display archery equipment when not in use. While many people choose to keep their bow in a durable and portable protective case all the time, there are several good reasons to put a bow on a wall rack.
First, it looks great! Every time you look at the wall, you could be reminded of that memorable epic hunt. Or, you could simply be reminded to go practice. Which brings me to my second point. Quick access! In order to practice as often as possible (we could all use a little more practice), your equipment simply must be easy to access and quick to set up. Nothing is more efficient than storing your bow on a set of hooks in a strategic location on the way to your practice range.
The most common use of a wooden bow rack is to display bows on the wall of a bedroom or trophy room. They are also commonly used in archery ranges, clubs, and outfitters' stores.
